Today, sat at the breakfast table, I reflected on how much I enjoy drawing objects formed of recognisable shapes. There's real, direct feedback when you get your drawing right and it's also obvious where you've missed something - whereas with more organic items there's more room for interpretation. So, in a fairly lazy mood, I picked on the closest possible item and tried to roughly sketch it with half an eye on proportions:
Clearly this is a pretty rough and ready sketch but the dimensions are reasonably accurate and there are shadows in the right places. What I particularly like though is the shape of the handle and its general weight; in the past I've struggled greatly with handles like this and to get one right is a big positive.
